Wayside Landscape Services, Inc. charges $85.00 / hour, plus related costs (i.e., blueprints, working copies, photos, etc.) for its design / consultation services: travel time is considered a necessary part of the design / consultation process and is billed at the same rate. This rate is guaranteed through the current calendar year. The minimum design / consultation fee is $200.00. Design fees are invoiced monthly. A $700.00 retainer is collected at contract inception.
DESIGN-PURCHASE REBATE*: Wayside Landscape Services, Inc. will rebate design fees up to 5% of the regular (i.e., non-sale) price of materials or services purchased from, and installed by, Wayside Landscape Services, Inc. employees for the purpose of completing said design; work must be completed within 12 months of date of submission of Proposal for completion of said work to be eligible for rebate. In some cases this results in a 100% rebate of the design fee (Note: the rebate is never larger than the actual design fee). The rebate is not applied to subcontractor fees. The Design-Purchase Rebate is applied to the final project invoice.
Note: Related design costs (i.e., blueprints, etc.) are not rebated. Design fees charged for preparing plans for, consulting with, and/or supervising sub-contract labor (i.e., non-Wayside employees) are not eligible for rebate. The design-purchase rebate is calculated from the total Landscape Installation Purchase Price minus sub-contractor fees.

We believe that good Landscape Design does not cost, it pays. Our Design-Purchase Rebate reflects this belief. A properly design landscape will continue to appreciate in value over a very long time. In fact, a properly designed landscape is one of the few purchases that does continue to appreciate over time. For instance, a $300.00 tree today may be worth $3,000.00 in 10-15 years; a $20,000 landscape today will add considerably to a property's value in just a few years.
The normal design process begins with a client interview and site evaluation. Based on information gathered at this time one or more preliminary plans are produced and presented to the client for review and analysis. This analysis usually leads to a final plan which is presented to the client along with a proposal to perform the work. The design process can be more or less involved than this depending upon the situation, circumstances, and desires of the client.
I/We hereby agree to retain Wayside Landscape Services, Inc. for the purpose of providing landscape design / consultation services at (address): ________________________________________. I/We further agree to pay Wayside Landscape Services, Inc. at the rate of $85.00 / hour plus related costs for design/consultation services. We fully understand the design process and how the Design-Purchase Rebate works. We understand that all plans, ideas, and information generated or discussed during the design process, whether written, oral, graphically represented, or electronically recorded or transmitted, are solely the property of Wayside Landscape Services, Inc. until such time as all design fees are paid in full. Any use or implementation prior to payment in full is a breach of the Landscape Design and Consultation Contract. Any publication, reproduction, or revision prior to payment in full is a violation of copyright laws and subject to prosecution. The landscape design and consultation services provided by Wayside Landscape Services, Inc. are understood to be improvements to real property under North Carolina law, regardless of whether or not Wayside Landscape Services, Inc. actually provides construction labor or materials to implement the plan.
